PES leaders: Zoran Zaev and Edi Rama have earned their EU path

Progressive governments in Albania and FYR Macedonia made it possible for the two countries to achieve a 2019 start date for EU accession negotiations.

PES common candidate during the PES Congress, 7 – 8 December in Lisbon

The Party of European Socialists will announce nominations for its common candidate for the President of the European Commission by 19 October this year, it was agreed today by representatives of PES member parties and organisations.

The PES Presidency meeting held in Riga, Latvia, fully supported the proposal that all PES member parties should be involved in a transparent and democratic process to nominate their candidates.

PES calls for an ambitious Eurozone budget to prevent future crises

The European Commission today released its proposal for a line in the EU’s long-term budget dedicated to the monetary union.

The proposal suggests creating a ‘reform delivery programme’ to incentivise structural reforms, and an instrument to tackle asymmetric shocks.
